Titles:

Conformation is a competition where the dog is evaluated by a judge against a written description of the ideal - the Breed Standard. This evaluation follows the long tradition of evaluating breeding stock in animals of all types. This is the venue where dogs earn their Champion title or CH.

Performance titles can be earned by Aussies in several venues from both AKC & ASCA including:

• Obedience (such as CD, CDX, UD, OTCH)
• Agility (such as NA, OA, AX, MACH)
• Herding (such as HT, HIC, RD, STDs)
• Tracking (such as TD)

Newfoundlands can earn performance titles from both AKC & NCA including: 

• Obedience (such as CD, CDX, UD, OTCH)
• Agility (such as NA, OA, AX, MACH)
• Tracking (such as TD)
• Water Work (such as WD/WRD -- Water Dog & Water Rescue Dog)
• Draft Dog (DD, cart pulling)
• VN or Versatile Newfoundland, which requires a CH; CD; DD; WD & WRD to achieve!
