Compose yourself, Archie. Why taunt me? Why upbraid me? I am merely a genius, not a god.”

Nero Wolfe is the detective in a long-running series of mystery novels by Rex Stout (1886-1975).  Many love the Nero Wolfe character for his vocabulary, wit, and arrogant intelligence.

Fiann’s Big Bad Wolfe: Nero, remembered and loved for his character, his communicative expressions and his arrogant intelligence.   Whether he opened the door himself to come in the house, fetched his toys by name, or got the phone off the cradle to dial with his nose, he constantly reminded us that he was                                                              merely a genius.
